Community Access & Participation

Community Access and Participation in Logan and Brisbane

Community access is support to get out and do the things you want to do: shopping, appointments, sport, classes, seeing friends, volunteering, work experience, or simply a regular day out. Parcare Lifestyle provides it across Logan, Brisbane and Redland City, and through our Melbourne branch. It is funded under the Core budget of your NDIS plan as Assistance with Social and Community Participation, and sometimes through Capacity Building when the goal is learning a skill.

What we help with

  • Getting to and from appointments, classes, sport and social events, in our vehicle or yours.
  • Shopping, banking, the library, the pool, the gym and the beach.
  • Joining a club, a course or a volunteer role, and staying with it.
  • Building confidence on public transport and in busy places.
  • Keeping in touch with family and friends.

Group activities and Parcare community events

Alongside 1:1 support we run a program of outings and group activities, including BBQ catch ups and day trips, open to Parcare participants who want to join. Nobody has to. Some people come to everything, some come once a month, and some prefer their own plans. Either is fine.

How support is arranged

We match you with a support worker on skills, personality and interests, and keep the same workers wherever we can so you are not starting again each week. Support can be 1:1 or in a small group, on a regular weekly slot or booked around what is on. Transport costs are agreed with you up front and follow the NDIS price guide.
